Air Force Command Headquarters Released a Press Release Explaining the Matter Regarding “United Stated Armed Forces Approved Raytheon On Signing a $280 Million Contract to Establish the Patriot Missile Defense System in Taiwan”. (April 8th, 2019)

Regarding the media coverage of “United States Armed Forces Approved Raytheon On Signing a $280 Million Contract To Establish the Patriot Missile Defense System in Taiwan”, the Air Force Command Headquarters has stated today (8th) that the Patriot Missile Defense System of the Republic of China Armed Forces were obtained from military sales, which is a procurement between two governments, and all relevant contract management and technical services are responsible by the project office of the Federal Government of the United States; the new contract of Patriot Missile System covered in the media coverage is managed and executed by the Federal Government of the United States to implement the project, and the handled tender notice on project management does not relate to the contract of the new system purchased by the ministry. The ministry hereby clarifies that the media coverage is a misinterpretation to the truth.
